I’m waiting for your face —
The beginning of a world tour

Busts: My Personal Winter is a solo exhibition by recent New York transplant Samara Golden. For its debut iteration at workspace, Golden will create a large-scale live video installation comprised of small sculptures of people with whom she discussed the concept of the piece. Drawing upon the artist’s interest in reversing the spectacle, the work gathers its form and momentum from itself. The actual materials in the installation are representative of an antiquated and curious conceptualization of femininity, pulling from notions of craftsmanship lost, and a romantic view of a pre-internet era. As a traveling sculpture on its first stop, Busts: My Personal Winter aims to be a work that is physically comprised of all the people who have ever looked at it. At its conclusion the piece will be a complex amalgamation, assembling artists, curators, and spectators from multiple locations into a single space.
